Meet Your Workshop Instructor - Crit Killen

Crit Killen is a jack of many trades. Not only has he been involved in the visual

effects of films such as Blade Runner, Titanic, Total Recall and Beetlejuice, but he is also an industry script consultant with 150+ credits to his name.


The scripts he’s consulted on include, Batman Begins, Star Trek: Into Darkness, The Wrestler, X-Men, The Lovely Bones, The Goonies, Unforgiven, Groundhog Day, The Matrix, The Notebook, Interstellar, Birdman, Moonrise Kingdom and Straight Outta Compton, just to scratch the surface.


Crit teaches the art of story using his DNA Story Helix, a fascinating visual that explains the inner workings of storytelling and how to write a film resonates with your audience. He’ll share examples from the most beloved films we all know to his own journey in the industry to guide you to the critical elements needed in your story. Filmmakers and storytellers should not miss this workshop!


Fun fact about Crit: He was on the design team for the iconic Beetlejuice costume!
